ZERONA® is the first non-invasive body contouring procedure to effectively remove excess fat.
This revolutionary method is applied externally, allows the patient to remain active during treatment. The procedure provides results without the dangers associated with surgery.
How does ZERONA® work?
Fatty tissue builds upon itself close to the surface of the skin. Because of its proximity to the skin’s surface, laser emulsification can have a dramatic effect. Fatty arrangements have been noted to break down after laser therapy, reducing its volume with obvious results.
ZERONA NON INVASIVE BODY CONTOURING
ZERONA® is the safest, most researched low-level laser in the world. As the first FDA approved non-invasive procedure to eliminate fat, physicians now have an alternative to liposuction for the reduction of waist, hips, and thighs.
In a controlled study, ZERONA® has shown to help patients lose, on average, 3.5 inches in combined circumference.
While most patients begin with treating their waist, hips, and thighs, ZERONA® can target fat tissue under the skin on nearly any part of the body. The treatment is especially useful in treating areas resistant to diet and exercise. Multiple areas can be covered with one laser session.
Patients of all body types benefit from ZERONA® laser therapy. The number of treatments and clinical protocols will vary depending on the patient. ZERONA® works best with a holistic regimen of nutrition and exercise. The significant improvement in body shape over a short period of time is used to motivate patients in complying with their diet and exercise program.
WHAT IS ZERONA?
About ZERONA® Laser Treatment
First used in 1998 as an adjunct to liposuction, Drs. Rodrigo and Clara Neira began using low-level lasers prior to surgery, reducing pain and inflammation. Upon extracting fat during liposuction, the doctors found the fat flowed out like water. After studying the eradication of fat tissue from low-level lasers under a microscope, clinical trials as a slimming application were the logical next step. Below, watch as the ZERONA® treatment liquefies fat cells. Note there are two types of fat cells – Subcutaneous (soft squishy fat) and Visceral (very firm fat). Subcutaneous fat is located directly above the skeletal muscle and below the skin. The low level laser is able to penetrate subcutaneous fat, but cannot break through visceral fat. Patients containing a high volume of visceral fat (fat below the skeletal muscle) are not ideal candidates for this procedure.

Cold Laser & Low Level Treatment Technology
The cold laser technology behind the ZERONA® procedure has shown to exclusively release the cellular contents of fat cells while leaving capillaries and other cells intact.
Prior to laser exposure, fat cells have a regular, cluster shape. Within minutes of low level laser exposure, fat cells begin developing transitory pores. This pore allows the evacuation of the cell’s contents into extracellular space. Once the contents of the fat cell have been emptied, they are released into interstitial space where it can be passed through the body during its normal course of detoxification.
